Muscat: Amid moderate trading activity, the Oman’s benchmark MSM30 Index was relatively stable at 5,313.71 points, down 0.01 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index declined 0.15 per cent to close at 780.31 points. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume while Raysut Cement led in terms of turnover. Oman Fisheries was the top gainer, up 2.08 per cent while Al Jazeera Steel was the top loser, down by 3.28 per cent.
A total number of 409 trades were executed on Tuesday, generating a turnover of OMR1.94 million with 8.25 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded securities, 7 advanced, 6 declined, and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab Investors stayed net buyers for OMR266,000 while Foreign Investors remained net sellers for OMR231,000 followed by Omani Investors for OMR35,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index increased 0.16 per cent to end at 7,969.65 points. Bank Nizwa, Al Sharqia Investments, Bank Muscat and Al Anwar Holding gained 1.05 per cent, 0.89 per cent, 0.50 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively. Alizz Bank, down 1.15 per cent, was the only sector loser.
Industrial Index ended negatively at 7,127.52 points, down 0.26 per cent. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering gained 2.08 per cent and 1.28 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Steel, Raysut Cement and Oman Cables declined 3.28 per cent, 1.47 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively.
Services Index slid 0.08 per cent to finish at 2,697.75 points. Ooredoo, up 0.86 per cent was the only gainer while Phoenix Power was the sole loser, down 1.60 per cent.
