Sultan's School donates OMR12,150 to Oman Down Syndrome Association

Muscat: The Sultan's School donated a cheque of OMR12,150 to the representatives of the Oman Down Syndrome Association at the flag ceremony on Sunday.
The money raised by both local and international artists, and art lovers through the Sultan's School 6th art auction will be used to provide extra support for children who are affected by Down Syndrome, allowing them access to specialist education and help with speech, occupational health and physiotherapy.
Speaking at the ceremony, one of the governors of ODSA, Zuwaina Al Barwani said, "We are overwhelmed with the donation from the Sultan's School, it will allow us to progress much further with our goals."
Another board member, Naima Al Sharji, noted that just as important, is keeping disability and learning difficulties in the public eye so that, "We can create awareness and understanding among the Omani community and promote the notion of inclusion for people affected in this way."
Dr. Glenn Canterford, the Sultan's School principal, was very pleased to hand over the donation, stating, that "It's been an outstanding commitment from all involved in the art auction, and it's excellent to see the ODSA benefiting in this way."
