Majan Electricity inaugurates two primary substations

Muscat: To preserve the environment and rationalise energy Majan Electricity Company has inaugurated two primary substations in Al Kuwairiah in North Batinah and Hafeet station in Buraimi governorate.
These primary substations are aimed to raise the level of engineering design in the company and use the latest technologies that would raise the efficiency of these primary substations, reduce the operational cost in them, improve the quality of work and apply the basics of sustainable architecture.
Eng. Yousef Ibrahim Al Balushi, Senior Manager of the Project Management Office said, “The new and modern design of the primary substations is aimed to match the modern development of the surrounding areas. The new design focuses on the use of sustainable construction materials to reduce the cost of maintenance and increase the life span of the materials used, in addition to providing an appropriate environment to raise the efficiency of the main electrical materials in the primary substation and increase its life span."
He added, “The design of the building and the identification of directions in addition to the use of the quality of the tempered glass will contribute effectively to reduce energy consumption by the use of lighting in addition to raising the efficiency of cooling devices of equipment inside the primary substation building.
“These primary substations meet the safety and security aspects and adhere to the applicable global standards. The primary substations are also equipped with monitoring and alarm systems connected to the company's main control room.”
