Kuwait City: Kuwait will resume commercial flights starting on Saturday, August 1st, the Kuwait News Agency has announced.
Since March 13, 2020, the commercial flights were suspended in Kuwait due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the statement, the decision to restart flight operations at Kuwait Airport will be in three stages.
The first stage starts on the August 1 and will last for six months, with an operating rate of not more than 30 per cent and the number of passengers expected should not exceed 10,000 per day and a maximum of 100 flights per day.
As for the second stage, it starts from February 2021, and it will also last for six months, with an operating rate of not more than 60 per cent, the number of passengers not exceeding 20,000 passengers per day, and a maximum of 200 daily trips.
The third and final stage, will begin on August 2021, with full operation and 30,000 passengers expected daily for 300 flights.
The Kuwait authority also announced a guide of health requirements for travelers, with the requirement to book tickets online and receive them via e-mail to avoid the use of paper tickets.
