Muscat: There is no truth to what is being circulated about reinstating control checkpoints in Darsait and Al Hamriyah during the lockdown starting from July 25, the Royal Oman Police has confirmed.
Speaking to Times of Oman, a top ROP official said control checkpoints will only be placed at the entrance and exit of each governorates only and not “within the governorates.”
“There is no truth to what is being circulated on social media about reinstating checkpoints in Darsait and Hamriyah,” he added.
According to the official, the ROP will intensify patrolling within the governorates during the movement ban between 7pm to 6am daily from July 25 to August 8.
“There will be patrolling during the movement ban within the governorates. We would like to request everyone to cooperate,” he added.
