Low air pressure area to develop in Arabian Sea

Muscat: The weather situation in the Arabian Sea is expected to deepen into a low air pressure area within 48 hours.

Oman Meteorology said in a statement: "Cumulus cloud activity in the northeastern Arabian Sea continues with the possibility of a low pressure area to be formed on the northwest Indian coast during the next 48 hours."

Yesterday the National Centre for Early Warning announced that it is monitoring the weather developments in the Arabian Sea.

A statement issued online by Oman Meteorology said: "Specialists at the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre are following developments in the Arabian Sea, where a region of low air pressure may be formed along the northwestern coast of India. The latest weather pictures show the presence of cumulus clouds in the eastern part of the Arabian Sea."
