Muscat: "The prevalence of the COVID-19 virus remains strong and we have not yet reached the peak, and there will be no vaccine before the end of 2020,” said a top Omani health official.
Dr. Muhammed Al Hosni, Undersecretary of Health for Health Affairs, in a conversation with Oman TV, said: "Family gatherings are the main reason for the rise in COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate."
He said that get-togethers during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr contributed to an increase in the coronavirus cases, as all of them are from social contacts.
Al Hosni pointed out the number of cases till Sunday in hospitals was 313.
"The number of infections among the healthcare workers reached 260 . Dryness of throat, cold and fever are signs of coronavirus unless proven otherwise," he added.
