Health minister reviews preventive measures in Khoula Hospital

Muscat: Minister of Health (MOH) visited Khoula Hospital to review the progress and procedures followed by the hospital to tackle COVID-19.
“His Excellency Dr Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Saidi, Minister of Health, visited Khoula Hospital, reviewed the progress of work and procedures followed by the hospital to tackle the COVID-19. He also met the medical and administrative staff,” a statement issued by the MOH said.
The visit included the ICUs, Emergency & Accidents Unit, Medical Laboratories, the isolation section for COVID-19 patients along with other departments.
During the visit, the Minister met the administrators and health workers in the hospital and listened to their suggestions on improving the quality of services provided to the patients, urging, at the same time, everyone to spare no effort during this critical period.
Al-Saidi expressed his thanks to all health workers and praised their significant efforts in providing the required healthcare for all patients generally and COVID-19 patients in particular.
He also conveyed the thanks of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to all health workers and his follow-up of the epidemiological situation.
Furthermore, the MOH urged all health workers to maintain the safety of their health and their families by wearing the preventive clothes and using the personal protective equipment as per the instructions issued by the concerned authorities.
Dr Abdullah Al-Harthi, Director General of Khoula Hospital stressed that this visit is a strong motivation for all workers in the Hospital.
Al-Harthi pointed out that Khoula Hospital has made all precautionary measures for COVID-19 and developed an action plan to respond to any emergency situations that may result from this pandemic, affirming that the Hospital has the adequate capacity to accommodate the patients in the isolation rooms and ICU beds if necessary.
Dr Abdullah also emphasised that the hospital is working within an integrated system in the Sultanate in cooperation with the Royal Hospital and Al-Nahda Hospital and providing the necessary support to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
