Oman transport: Good progress in Barka-Nakhal road dualisation project

Barka: Work on the dualisation of the Barka-Nakhal road is progressing well.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications is supervising the 39–kilometre dualisation project of the road in South Al Batinah Governorate.
The road links the densely populated South Al Batinah Governorate, ensures smooth traffic and limits the road traffic accidents.
It also provides an integrated basic structure for transport which revitalises tourist movement, trade and commerce activities in the wilayats of South Al Batinah Governorate.
The road serves the wilayats of Barka, Wadi Al Ma’awil and Nakhal among others.
Construction works and the laying work on the road is now 27 per cent complete.
The road would be provided with proper lighting, service roads, safety features, instruction boards, steel barricades, parking lots for taxis and buses and ROP vehicles among other services.
