Oman's Majlis A'Shura discusses joint panel report

Muscat: A report on divergence of views between State Council and Majlis Al Shura on some issues was discussed on Wednesday.
The discussions came during the Majlis Al Shura’s 8th regular session of the 2nd annual sitting of the 8th term held under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Shura on Wedenesday.
It discussed a report of the Joint Committee between the State Council and Majlis Al Shura on divergent views on some articles between the two councils about the draft veterinary pharmaceuticals law, referred by the Council of Ministers. Article (35) of the law will be discussed during a joint session with the State Council.
During the regular session, the Majlis approved a report of the Media and Culture Committee on the draft cultural heritage law and referred it to the State Council.
Tender law
In his speech, Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Shura said that a proposal on a draft law for amending some articles of the Tender law would be considered along with the issue of export of green fodder.
Members were briefed on the agreement on air transport between Oman and the Czech Republic, the draft law of the GCC Trademarks System referred to the Economic and Financial Committee, the draft law on regulation and protection of the sites of the Aflajs listed in the Unesco global heritage list, referred to the Food and Water Security Committee for consideration, among other issues.
