Muscat: Remittances by Filipinos living overseas reached $21.2 billion USD in the first eight months of 2018, a year-on-year rise of 2.4 percent according to the Philippines Central Bank.
Data from the bank also showed that personal remittances from land-based workers grew by 2.1 percent to $16.3 billion USD.
By country source, more than 79 percent of the total cash remittances for the first eight months of 2018 came from the United States, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Singapore, Japan, United Kingdom, Qatar, Canada, Germany, and Hong Kong.
