Muscat: Amid greater participation from institutions and foreigners, the MSM30 Index gained 0.11 per cent to close at 5,814.71 points. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.43 per cent to end at 862.52 points. Al Madina Takaful remained the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Monday’s top gainer was Al Anwar Ceramics, up 4.55 per cent, while Construction Materials was the top loser, down 5.56 per cent.
A total number of 929 trades were executed on Monday, generating turnover of OMR3.25 million with 22.27 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 10 advanced, 11 declined and 26 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR65,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR12,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR77,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended at 8,091.74 points, up 0.05 per cent. Al Madina Investments, Gulf Investment Services, Al Izz Bank, Oman & Emirates Holding and Al Madina Takaful increased 2.86 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.49 per cent, 1.39 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively. Al Batinah Development, Al Sharqia Investments and NBO declined 2.04 per cent, 1.42 per cent and 0.81 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index had marginal gain of 0.05 per cent to close at 7,724.08 points. Al Anwar Ceramics and Oman Cement gained 4.55 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively. Construction Materials, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Gulf International Chemicals lost 5.56 per cent, 3.19 per cent, 0.88 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively.
Services Index advanced 0.34 per cent to finish at 3,028.52 points. Renaissance Services, Omantel and Phoenix Power increased 4.55 per cent, 0.70 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Services, OIFC, Port Services and Al Maha Petroleum declined 0.53 per cent, 0.46 per cent, 0.40 per cent and 0.31 per cent respectively.
