Muscat: Industrial Innovation Forum (Oman 2017) will kick off on Monday at Sheraton Hotel Ruwi under the patronage of Dr. Rawya bint Saud al-Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education.
The two-day forum is organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with several government and private agencies. The forum coincides with the Sultanate's celebration of Oman Industry Day, which falls on 9th February every year.
The forum aims at meeting major establishments, researchers, academic and workers at the industry field to discuss and share expertise in areas of innovation in manufacturing industries.
Speakers from within and outside the Sultanate will take part in the forum, which is themed "Promoting the Sultanate's Competitiveness through Industrial Innovation". The forum targets those concerned with the industrial sector.
Several themes will be addressed by the forum covering the concept of industrial innovation, the national plan for industrial innovation and innovation environment. It will also discuss innovation at the level of the Omani industries and case studies on experiences of some factories, in addition to reviewing successful Omani innovations, international experiences in industrial innovation and the impact of innovation on enhancing economy and companies.
