Pakistan envoy meets chairmen of Social Club and Pakistan School System

Muscat: Promotion of people-to-people contacts as well as consolidation of Oman-Pakistan bilateral relationship were discussed when two prominent members of the Pakistani community in the Sultanate met the country's envoy here recently.
Pakistan Social Club (PSC) and Pakistan School System (PSS) chairmen, along with Pakistan’s ambassador to Oman Ali Javed, reaffirmed their commitment towards consolidating bilateral friendship with the Sultanate, a press release issued by the Pakistan Embassy said.
Mian Muhammad Munir and Muhammad Adnan Shahzad, chairmen of Pakistan Social Club (PSC) and Pakistan School System (PSS), respectively, called on Ambassador Ali Javed recently.
In the hour-long meeting, both sides discussed their vision for promoting people-to-people links and reaffirmed their commitment towards consolidating bilateral friendship with Oman with activities during 2017.
The two chairmen appreciated the Pakistan Embassy’s efforts to serve the community as well as the inclusive and successful organisation of high level political and parliamentary exchanges, especially the recent visit to Islamabad by the chairman of the State Council (Upper House), Dr. Manzeri, and earlier in September last year, the visit to Muscat by Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz.
The chairman of the PSC briefed the ambassador on establishing Youth and Doctors’ Wings and appreciated the Embassy’s outreach initiative to register 50,000 Pakistanis for “WhatsApp Broadcast.”
The chairman of the PSS praised the launching of the Embassy’s Newsletter and appreciated its ‘Special Edition,’showcasing the festivities of the Pakistani community and all branches of PSC and PSS to mark the National Day of Omanin November 2016.
The Ambassador accorded a warm welcome to the two chairmen and appreciated their contributions in furthering the bonds of friendship with Oman. He shared his vision for 2017 and expressed gratitude to the PSC and the PSS for their past contributions.
He praised both the chairmen and their respective organizations for galvanising the Pakistani community for unprecedented celebrations to mark the National Day of Oman 2016.
On the occasion, the two chairmen extended special invitations to the Ambassador and to each other to witness the upcoming meetings of their Board of Directors to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.
A total of 261,441 Pakistanis (November 2016) reside in Oman. The Pakistan Social Club is located in Muscat, Salalah, Buraimi and Sohar whereas the Pakistan School System has seven branches with 6,000 students across the Sultanate. The Embassy’s ‘Outreach Initiative’ has designated the number (+968) 9198-0458 for the Embassy’s WhatsApp Broadcast.
