Muscat: Visitors to the Muscat Festival 2017 can enjoy a glimpse of Omani traditions and culture at the Heritage Village.

One of the major attractions at the largest annual festival in Oman, the Heritage Village, is open all days of the week. It attracts thousands of people every year.
A tour of the Village helps visitors picture Oman’s well maintained traditions from the past, a characteristic that sets Oman apart from most countries in the world.
Some of the traditional Omani industries hosted by the Heritage Village include making of Omani halwa, one of the most popular foods in Oman which is served at different events along with the famous Omani coffee.
Other traditional skills such as rope making, traditional games and folk arts can also be seen at the Village.
Omani women dressed in traditional attire can be seen selling perfumes, incense, food and other items at the Village. Handmade pottery items are also on display at this Heritage Village.
The Heritage Village also offers visitors a chance to enjoy donkey rides. They can also do some shopping at the market which sells traditional perfumes and incense.
The 24-day Muscat Festival, which began on January 19, will continue till February 11, 2017 in Amerat and Naseem Parks. It features events such as Tour of Oman and other cultural, artistic and motorsports activities.
