Mauritanian President condoles the passing of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos

Muscat: Condolences for the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said were offered by the Secretary General of the Presidency of Mauritania, Mohammed bin Salim Ould Al Bashir, on behalf of President Mohammed Ould Sheikh Al Ghazwani.

Al Bashir was received at Al Alam Palace in Muscat by current Sultan HM Haitham bin Tariq, with a statement from the Oman News Agency, the state-run news bureau of Oman saying, “His Majesty the Sultan – may God bless him and protect him – received His Excellency Muhammad bin Salem Ould Al-Bashir, Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and his accompanying delegation, envoy of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazwani, President of the Islamic Republic.

“My condolences and sympathies from the Mauritanian President to His Majesty and the royal family over the death of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur - may God rest his soul,” said Al Bashir.

HM Sultan Haitham thanked the president of Mauritania for his condolences and sympathies during this time of great loss for Oman, praying to the Almighty that Sultan Qaboos be granted his mercy and dwell in paradise, in addition to praying for the Mauritanian people to be safe from harm.
