Sayyid Haitham praises Oman's National Records and Archives Authority role

Muscat: Praising the programmes implemented by National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA), His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture said that the NRAA has taken proper steps since its inception.
The permanent national exhibition of documents and archives was opened at the Airport Heights in Muscat yesterday under the auspices of Sayyid Haitham.
He added that this exhibition will be a reference for researchers and scholars, commending the role played by the NRAA in highlighting the history of the Sultanate.
Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Dhoyani, Chairman of NRAA said that the opening of this exhibition stems from the belief in the importance of highlighting the cultural and historical role of the Sultanate through the different eras, the role of Omanis in contributing to the human civilisation and in confirmation of the importance of documents in scientific research and intellectual creativity.
The exhibition comes to highlight the timeless historical position and the deep-rooted civilisation of the Sultanate.
It also comes to narrate the wonderful tale of glory and authentic cultural heritage to the world.
The Omani history is not only told on papers, but carved on the stones of Sumer and Akkad, drawn on international maps, minted on stamps and coins, documented in manuscripts, written in international newspapers and magazines, and recited in the pictures and movies.
The opening ceremony was attended by ministers, undersecretaries, and honourable members at the State Council.
