Weather update: PACA issues alert for Oman

Muscat: Air depression Thujaj, which has been impacting the Sultanate's weather since Thursday, has led to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) issuing an alert on Sunday. The air depression will continue to affect weather till Tuesday, December 10.

PACA said in a statement on Sunday, “Chances of Thunderstorms over most of the Sultanate on Sunday associated with fresh winds and hail which may cause flash floods in Wadies.”

“Heavy rain is expected over the Governorates of Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah with rainfall ranging between 30 mm to 60 mm.”

PACA advised all to take precautions during the rains and to avoid valleys and sailing during the mentioned period.
