Issues related to trade names discussed at key meeting

Muscat: Challenges and controls related to trade names and other issues were discussed during a meeting with businesses owners with the director of the Directorate General of Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI).
During the meeting, further challenges facing the owners of such offices were discussed and spotted some violations committed by the employees relating to trade names.
They were notified about the importance to strictly follow the trade names and to help the investor in choosing a name serving their commercial activities, Hamad bin Salem Al Shekeli, director, directorate general, Minitsry of Commerce and Industry in South Batinah province, said.
He also shed light on the importance of assuring the validity of documents annexed through “Invest Easy” service, especially the bank certificates. This should be accredited from the bank with the seal and signatures, as all the annexed certificates will be later checked by the concerned parties.
There has to be a price list displayed at a prominent place in the office outlining the details of all the services provided along with its prices. The “Invest Easy” system has contributed in aiding several transactions with high accuracy for exchange of information among the concerned parties. Also it has contributed in treating the matter of multiple registers and improved the business environment for investors, Hamad Al Shekeli, said.
During the meeting, some observations that came from investors about the price disparity between the offices that present the same service were also we discussed.
