Tennis: Oman's Fatma to face Georgina in summit clash, loses in doubles final

Muscat: Oman's Fatma Al Nabhani celebrated the nation's 46th National day by staging a hardfought comeback win in the semifinals of the the $10,000 Rabat ITF Pro Circuit tournament in Morocco on Friday.
In the semifinals, Fatma Al Nabhani got the better off Romania's Daiana Negreanu 3-6, 6-0, 6-2. After a shaky start in the first set, the Omani girl got into perfect rhythm to outsmart her opponent.
Earlier in the quaterfinals, Fatma survived a close second set to beat Spain's Arabela Fernandez Rabener 6-2, 7-5.
In the final, Fatma will square off against Spain's top seeded Georgina Garcia Perez, who beat Russia's Natalia Orlova 6-0, 7-6.
Meanwhile, the Fatma Al Nabhani's joy was cut short in the final of the doubles where she played in the company of Spanish lass Olga Parres Azcoitia.
After the singles semifinals, the Omani lass had to play the doubles final on the same day, but both Fatma and Olga tried to make a match of it finally conceding the third set tamely.
Romania's Cristina Adamescu and Daian Negreanu after getting off to a good start lost way in the second set before pulling up the socks to win the title. The verdict in favour of the Romanian pair read 6-3, 1-6, 10-5.
Earlier, in the semifinals, the top seeded pair of Fatma and Olga received a walkover from third seeded combo of Mariana Drazic (Croatia) and Natalia Orlova (Russia), while the Romanians had defeated Russia's Vasilisa Aponasenko and Netherland's Regina Husak 7-5, 6-1.
