Seven in race for Majlis Al Shura chairman’s post

Muscat: An extraordinary session to elect the new chairman is currently underway at the Majlis Al Shura.

The new chairman will be elected along with two deputies for the ninth term of the council. According to reports, seven members are vying for the chairman’s post.

Speaking to the media, Khalid Al Ma'awali, the chairman of the Shura Council for the last two terms, said: "I hope that the new Shura Council will be responsible and will take right decisions in the interest of the nation.”
