Murdered Filipina waitress's mother flies into Oman

Muscat: “I want to see the killer. I want to know why he did this to my daughter.”
These were the first words of Alice Pamittan, mother of murdered Filipina hotel waitress Pinky Pamittan, when she flew in to Oman.
She was talking to Times of Oman at the arrival terminal of Muscat Airport yesterday, after securing a visa to travel to Oman and take her daughter’s body back home.
“First I will go to the mortuary, see my daughter and then to the police station and the embassy,” Alice added. Alice, who is working in Jordan, flew from Amman yesterday morning to follow up on case procedures and body repatriation.
“I am not at all aware of what has happened to my daughter. I only know that my daughter had a tragic death and one culprit has confessed to committing the crime to the police,” Alice added.
“I have to get all papers. If everything is done, then in the coming days, I will accompany the body to Manila,” Alice added.
Pinky, who was working as a supervisor at a hotel in Qurum, had gone missing during the last week of October. On October 27, the hotel management reported her missing at Baushar police station.
Police in Baushar launched an investigation and her body was found dumped in a wadi behind the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque on October 28. A Royal Oman Police said that a number of men had been detained over the alleged sexual assault and murder of Pinky and added that one of the men had confessed to the crime and had been arrested.
On November 2, police told Times of Oman that Pinky’s alleged killer was a colleague who confessed to murdering her after claiming they had a row over money. On November 6, Alice and her family had a remembrance party for Pinky, on what would have been her 32nd birthday.
