OHRC forms fact-finding team to look into death of several people

Muscat: The Omani Human Rights Commission formed a fact-finding team to enquire into the death of a number of people, most of them children, in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

The formed team will submit its report within a period not exceeding one month from the date of its formation, the OHRC stated.

Previously, the Oman Human Rights Commission had issued a statement in which it called on the concerned authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure that such painful incidents are not repeated within the framework of what is required by the applicable laws and agreements to which the Sultanate of Oman has acceded.
