Muscat: Oman’s Information Technology Authority continues its awareness campaign of making people aware of the dangers of blackmailing and encourages them to report any such cases they come across.
This is being done in cooperation with several official bodies including the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), the Public Prosecution and the telecommunications companies (Omantel and Ooredoo).
The campaign slogan indicates that people have to report their incidents, and that the concerned entities should treat such incidents with high confidentiality.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the negative consequences of cyber blackmailing and encourages victims to report any such incidents to the concerned authorities, to either the Oman National CERT at the Information Technology
Authority or other law enforcement entities.
To report any blackmailing cases or for any other cyber security incidents, one can contact the Oman CERT through 24166828 during the working hours from 7.30am to 2.30pm or at anytime through [email protected].
Cases can also be reported to the ROP hotline 80077444.
