Muscat: Arab Business Machine, Apple’s authorised distributor for the Middle East, announced yesterday that it will offer the iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus in Oman from October 15.
The phone will be offered by telecom operators, such as Omantel and Oreedo, and Apple Authorised Resellers stores across Oman, such as Mistore, Emax, Extra, Sharaf DG, Virgin Megastore, Gadgets, Addirham, Fusion Logic, Al Afnan and Oman Phone.
Although the phone was not officially launched in the country prior to this announcement, it has been on sale in Oman’s grey market ever since Apple launched the iPhone7 at its authorised stores across the globe. The Middle East’s only two recognised Apple stores are in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Meanwhile, Ooredoo, one of the two most popular telecom companies in Oman is planning to countdown the arrival of the new iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus in the country through an exciting launch event at the Muscat Grand Mall on October 14.
The official release of the new Apple device will start at 10pm and continue till midnight; the fun-packed occasion will treat Ooredoo customers to a programme of entertainment and activities, including a raffle with the chance of winning one a highly sought after new smartphone.
As part of the festivities, the customer, who pre-orders the first iPhone7 with Ooredoo, will be presented with an elite Ooredoo Diamond number. In addition, free accessories will be gifted to the first 50 customers, who order online as they collect their new devices.
Omantel, the country’s biggest telecom provider had started the pre-registration for the iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus through its online portal some days ago.
