Muscat: Kuwait Airways will start daily non-stop services to Kuwait from Muscat from October 30.
Currently, Kuwait Airways is operating five flights a week. “Now we will be adding flights on Monday and Wednesday,” Rajan Jayaraman, district sales manager, Oman, Kuwait Airways said.
The introduction of the new flights will cater to growing demand for traffic between Kuwait and Muscat. “These daily non-stop flights will be connected to various destinations in India and the sub-continent, Middle East, far East and Europe,” he said, adding that earlier two flights from Muscat used to operate via Abu Dhabi.
With effect February 20, 2017, Kuwait Airways is also planned to add two more flights on Monday and Wednesday thus the number of flights between Kuwait-Muscat-Kuwait will be increased to nine flights a week.
Kuwait Airways has acquired seven new aircraft from airbus recently and these new aircraft will be used on Kuwait-Muscat route.
The new A320 fleet is equipped with Airbus’s innovate Runway overrun Prevention system (ROPS) technology. This on-board cockpit technology, which Airbus has pioneered independently over several years, increases pilot’s situational awareness during landing, reduces exposures to runway excursion risk, and if necessary, provides active protection.
“Further, the new aircrafts will have 18-inch wide seat standard for unmatched passenger comfort, an extra-wide aisle for faster boarding and highly efficient in-flight service, as well as more space for carry-on baggage. The new aircrafts A320neo are configured with 16Business class and 114 Economy class seats,” officials said.
