Oman Post plans to expand its services in Muscat soon

Muscat: Door-to-door postal services may soon become a reality in most parts of Muscat as Oman Post is reviewing the possibility of expanding its services.
Currently, run as a pilot project for the first time in Oman at Al Mouj Muscat, the door-to-door postal service is being offered to the community in Al Mouj, which has over 4,000 residents.
It includes the delivery of both parcels and letters, and has been in operation from the beginning of September this year.

Initially started for the waterfront development’s apartments, the service will later extend to villas and townhouses. This unprecedented service may soon be extended to other such residential complexes and also to different parts of the Muscat governorate if the pilot project goes well.
“The pilot project is in Al Mouj and we are going to review the performance and how we are doing there and build capability and then the plan is to expand to other similar commercial residential areas or complexes,” said Abdul Malik Al Balushi, chief executive officer of Oman Post.
“Also, if there are areas where we think we can deliver home-to-home and it’s feasible and the system allows it, then we will do that. This is a pilot project and Oman Post is looking at testing and developing capabilities so that they can expand in different areas in Muscat.”so that they can expand in different areas in Muscat.”
