Muscat: A commercial centre in Salalah was fined OMR3,000 for selling expired food, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) reported on Wednesday.
The primary court in Salalah also ordered the confiscation of the items and jailing the accused for three months.
During an inspection, the PACP officials spotted a quantity of expired food and, after sending some samples to the labs, tests showed that the food was unsuitable for human consumption, according to the PACP.
