Oman to showcase food products at Shanghai Exhibition with 15 companies

Muscat– The Sultanate of Oman will participate next Tuesday in the Shanghai International Food and Hospitality Exhibition in China, with 15 Omani companies showcasing national food products to expand their presence in international markets and explore new export opportunities.

The participation aims to promote Omani food industries, strengthen the competitiveness of non-oil exports and establish new trade channels in China and other Asian markets. It also seeks to connect Omani exporters with international importers, distributors and buyers.

The participating companies will showcase the quality, diversity and competitiveness of Omani food products, explore new distribution and supply networks, and build sustainable business partnerships. The exhibition will also provide opportunities to sign agreements and memoranda of understanding with international buyers and distributors.

Lubna bint Mohammed Al Harthi, Director of the Export Development Department at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said the Omani pavilion would provide a direct platform for national companies to engage with major international companies and importers in China and the wider region.

She said the exhibition would enable Omani businesses to understand market requirements, technical and regulatory standards, and facilitate export agreements and contracts.

Al Harthi added that the ministry's "Oman Exports" initiative provides direct logistical and organisational support to help companies convert business meetings and exhibition opportunities into actual export deals.

She described China as one of the world's largest and most promising markets for Omani products, noting that participation in specialised international exhibitions reflects the growing export readiness of national industries.

Huda bint Salem Al-Hasani, Export Development Specialist at the ministry, said the exhibition offered an integrated business platform bringing together decision-makers, importers and specialists in supply chains, logistics and food services.

The participation forms part of Oman Exports' 2026 programmes to promote national products in priority markets, open new export destinations and connect Omani factories and companies with international business partners through bilateral meetings and business-matching opportunities.
