Oman finish fifth in World Endurance Championship in Slovakia

Muscat: Oman settled for the fifth place in the 2016 World Endurance Championship in Slovakia on Saturday.
According to information received here, Spain won the top honours in both the team and individual competitions.
In the 160km race, which saw participation of 132 riders from 46 countries, Oman’s Saleh Al Balushi won the 10th place in the individual category finishing the race in seven hours, 42 minutes and 31 seconds.
A total of three Omani individual riders completes the race, leading to the Sultanate finishing in the fifth place in the team competition.
Besides Saleh Al Balushi, the other Omanis who completed the race are Faisal Al Farsi (7:59:40) and Sami Al Balushi (9:18:02).
