Power outage repaired by Oman PDO

Muscat: A power outage on August 31 in Petroleum Development Oman was restored on September 1, a senior official said.

"Oil and gas operations have been restored.

"Since the incident, which was caused by a technical failure, our teams worked tirelessly around the clock to restore electricity and production at all affected oil and gas facilities as quickly and as safely as possible, " an official from the PDO said.

“Power was restored early on Thursday (1 September) and the first oil production resumed at 5am that day, followed by the first gas just under six hours later.

“PDO prides itself on the reliability of its operations and we have launched an investigation to fully understand the root causes and to ensure there is no future re-occurrence

“We would like to apologise to our valued customers for any inconvenience that has been caused.”
