US-Iran negotiations set for Geneva on Thursday: Oman’s Foreign Minister

Muscat: Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, has confirmed that US-Iran negotiations are scheduled to take place in Geneva on Thursday (26 February), signalling renewed momentum in diplomatic efforts between the two sides.

In a post shared on his official social media platform, Al Busaidi said he was “pleased to confirm US-Iran negotiations are now set for Geneva this Thursday, with a positive push to go the extra mile towards finalizing the deal.”

The talks, held under Omani facilitation, are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at narrowing differences and reaching a mutually acceptable agreement. 

Oman has been playing a key mediating role in fostering dialogue between the United States and Iran.

The upcoming round in Geneva is expected to focus on advancing discussions and building on previous progress, amid cautious optimism about the prospects of finalizing a deal.
