Oman's food commodities imports fall by 3%

Muscat: The value of the Sultanate's imports of food commodities stood at OMR1.13 billion during 2015 compared to OMR1.19 billion during 2014 comprising a decline by 3.06 per cent according to date released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The value of exports and re-exports of food commodities stood at OMR441.1 million during 2015 against OMR426.7 million during 2014 constituting a rise by 3.37 per cent.
The NCSI date pointed out that the value of the Sultanate's imports of livestock during 2015 stood at OMR69.9 million compared to OMR74.4 million during 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same hit OMR41.8 million in 2015 compared to OMR48.9 million during 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of meat and associated products stood at OMR137.5 million during 2015 against OMR134.1 million in 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same stood at OMR28.2 million in 2015 compared to OMR15.2 million during 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of eggs and dairy products stood at OMR242.2 million in 2015 compared to OMR266.2 million during 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same stood at OMR114.4 million in 2015 compared to OMR116.7 million during 2014.
The value of the Sultanate's imports of fish and associated products stood at OMR26 million in 2015 compared to OMR22.8 million during 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same hit OMR53.2 million in 2015 compared to OMR58.5 million during 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of cereals and associated products stood at OMR281.3 million during 2015 compared to OMR271.8 million in 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same hit OMR102.09 million during 2015 compared to OMR91.6 million in 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of fruits and vegetables hit OMR189.6 million in 2015 compared to OMR210.4 million during 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same stood at OMR43.7 million in 2015 compared to OMR45.4 million during 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of sugar, associated products and honey hit OMR32.2 million in 2015 against OMR32.8 million during 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same stood at OMR4.3 million during 2015 against OMR2.9 million in 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of coffee, tea, cacao and spices hit OMR60.8 million during 2015 compared to OMR71.2 million in 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same hit OMR2.8 million in 2015 against OMR3.5 million during 2014.
The Sultanate's imports of other foods hit OMR50.8 million during 2015 against OMR48.9 million in 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same stood at OMR40.8 million in 2015 compared to OMR38.07 million during 2014.
The value of animal food (excluding grinded cereals) stood at OMR42.4 million during 2015 against OMR36 million in 2014. The value of exports and re-exports of the same hit OMR9.2 million in 2015 compared to OMR6.4 million during 2014.
