Muscat: Public consumption of food, beverages or other items that break the fast during the Holy Month of Ramadan is prohibited under Article 277 of the Oman Penal Code, issued by the Royal Decree 7/2018.

Under Chapter One, "Crimes Affecting Religion," in Section Eight, the article states: "Anyone who publicly consumes food, beverages, or other items that break the fast during the daytime in Ramadan shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not less than 10 days and not exceeding 3 months."

This law reflects the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to upholding religious practices and maintaining public decorum during the holy month of Ramadan.
