Muscat: A natural sugar factory will be set up in the Salalah Free Zone at a cost of more than OMR 70 Million. Once operational it, will offer more than 100 jobs.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Salalah Free Zone and Petiva Group from India to set up the factory.
Ali Tabouk, Chief Executive Officer of the SFZ said: "The investment is worth USD $200 Million and the factory will create more than 100 jobs. The factory will produce a natural calorie-free, non-genetically modified sugar, the first of its kind in the Middle East."
He added, "We are also working on new investments worth more than one billion US dollars, which will be announced soon. The new investments will contribute more than 1,000 direct jobs".
