Sayyid Theyazin presides over Omani Youth Day celebration

Manah: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, today presided over a ceremony marking Omani Youth Day.

The ceremony, held at "Oman Across the Ages Museum" in the Wilayat of Manah (A’Dakhiliyah Governorate), saw the felicitation of winners of the Youth Excellence Award, 5th edition.

The ceremony included the opening of a 3-day Youth Initiatives Exhibition featuring 10 themes. The initiatives cover a range of specializations, including financial technology, education, employment, physical fitness, crafts, environment, the media, engineering and law.

The ceremony included the opening of branches of the Youth Centre in the governorates. The Centre’s branches seek to accommodate and hone the skills of all youth segments in the Sultanate of Oman.

The ceremony also saw the signing of five ‘cooperation and partnership agreements’. The first was a ‘cooperation programme’ agreement to finance a feasibility study for the Youth Centre project with OQ Group.

The second ‘partnership agreement’ was signed with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for the implementation of a programme codenamed “musta’id” or ‘Ready’. The third ‘partnership agreement’ was inked with Vodafone Company.

The 4thwas a ‘strategic partnership agreement’ between the Youth Centre and ITCHA Group. The 5thwas a land investment agreement for the setting up of the Youth Centre’s branch in the Wilayat of Nizwa.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, HH Sayyid Theyazin honoured the winners of the Youth Excellence Award (5th edition) for the year 2024. As many as 21 youth merited the award, which covered five domains: Digital Media, Digital Economy, Environment, Youth Initiatives and Entrepreneurship.
