Four SMEs receive recognition from the International Organization for Standardization

Muscat: Four SMEs, among those contracted by Oman Broadband Company, have received international recognition from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification).

This achievement comes as part of the “Ta’heel” programme supervised by the company with the aim of supporting small and medium enterprises and promoting entrepreneurship in the Sultanate of Oman.

The four companies: “Al-Izdihar Technology Solutions”, “Sahul Naqsi Trading and Contracting Joint Stock Company”, “Reef Telecommunications and Electrical Services Trading”, and “Al-Maqar Trading and Contracting”, received the ISO certificate in recognition of their commitment to international quality standards.

This international recognition is a testament to the companies’ commitment to implementing international quality standards that focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, which enhances efficiency and reliability in business operations.

The companies were evaluated according to a comprehensive criteria including leadership, risk management, document management, in addition to operations, auditing, and performance.

Eng. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband Company, stressed that the "Ta'heel" programme is part of a series of initiatives implemented by the company to support entrepreneurship, based on its belief in the importance of the role played by companies in achieving social responsibility, noting that obtaining the ISO 9001:2015 certificate will contribute to enhancing the operational efficiency of companies, improving their reputation in the market, and stimulating the business environment by aligning operations with international standards and identifying improvement opportunities to reduce costs and increase productivity.

For his part, Eng. Moatasem bin Abdulnabi Al Balushi, General Manager of Corporate Performance at the company, explained that the "Ta'heel" initiative to support small and medium enterprises came as a reflection of the directives of the Oman Investment Authority to companies, on the necessity of enhancing local added value programmes represented by "Qimam Program", and the efforts made to empower entrepreneurs and develop national competencies and their products; to be compatible with international standards, as this cooperation aims to enhance the competitiveness of local products and services locally and internationally, in line with Oman Vision 2040 to build a diversified and sustainable economy.
