At 98th meeting in Doha, Executive Office discusses developing GCC sports, expanding international cooperation

Members of GCC NOCs Executive Office, raised a number of proposals and recommendations that will contribute to the development of joint GCC sports work during the Executive Office meeting in its 98th edition, which was held in Qatar yesterday, Tuesday, to be presented in the meeting, which will be held this Wednesday afternoon in the Qatari capital, Doha. Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) was represented at the meeting by Taha bin Sulaiman Al-Koshari, OOC Secretary-General, Dr. Mansour bin Sultan Al-Tawqi, OOC Board of Directors, Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Rahbi, OOC Executive Director, and Badr bin Ali Awlad Thani, OOC Deputy Director of Administrative Affairs.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of many axes and topics of importance, most notably the discussion of developing the system of joint GCC action in the sports field, hosting the GGC sports tournaments for the next year 2025, and the requests submitted by a number of the GCC NOCs, as well as a review of the reports submitted by the advisory committees emanating from the Executive Office.

The issue of joint international cooperation between the GCC with brotherly and friendly countries and international organizations was also discussed, and the possibility of providing them with the opportunity to participate in scientific sports courses or specialized workshops in the sports field.

The meeting was filled with many topics that were reviewed and discussed to be presented at the 36th meeting of GCC NOCs, including the recommendations of the meeting of the working group to study the conditions of the Technical Committee and the work teams affiliated GCC NOCs, in addition to the general order regulations. For the sports games tournaments in GCC, the recommendations submitted by the advisory committees of the Executive Office regarding the calendar of its programs and plans for the current year, and the recommendations submitted by the organizing committee for the first GCC Sports Games held in the United Arab Emirates during the period from April 16 to May 2 of this current year. In addition to the request submitted by the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee regarding the cancellation of the first GCC Sports Games for indoor and martial arts.
