MUSCAT: World Top DJ Award (WTD2015), the Middle East’s largest music award ceremony, kicked off this week.
The Best Radio DJ Middle East was awarded to DJ Darren Short from Hi FM Oman, and also Best Event Agency in Music Festivals went to Oman-based Axis Events LLC.
The award ceremony took place at the Dubai Marina and witnessed performances by Baby Brown, DJ Vlader, DJ Shadow, DJ AKS and other upcoming stars.
“This amazing recognition by the International Entertainments Industry will drive Oman’s focus towards developing tourism. In the past, we have experienced many residents and citizens leaving the country to celebrate occasions, which was mainly due to the lack of options available in Oman, but recently we have received excellent responses and participation from the community. We also had visitors from Saudi and Bahrain for our last event,” said Dr Nithin RS, CEO of Axis Group.
Additionally, Darren Short of HI FM OMAN noted, “It is an honour to be recognised by international platforms. Oman, over the years, has been enfolding in many ways and has accepted and always been open to change. Rising in the field of entertainment will definitely open wider doors for tourism in the country.”
Further, Al Mouj Golf has been recognised with the number 2 ranking among the top 10 golf courses across the Middle East, in a listing published annually by Golf Digest Middle East.
This is the only golf course in Oman that was considered for this nomination, as many top international golfing events have chosen Almouj Golf as their favourite venue. Oman, with its beautiful places of interest, superb landscape and renowned beaches, has always been a tourist attraction. It is believed that a better social lifestyle and more international events could attract even more tourists to the country.
These awards could be the start of a better future for this country, where life is more joyful.
People not only want to live in a better location, they also want a place where they can celebrate and have fun from their stressful routines. Oman will now strive to be the right place for both.
The public hopes to see Oman rising to new heights and changing its social calendar for the better. Oman will no more be just a small spot in the Middle East, but a tourist destination recognized by international entertainment followers.
The top DJ title was awarded to DJ Tiesto, while best club in the Middle East went to Club Sensation, Dubai.
Personalities and celebrities from the entertainment and music industry, the event concluded by bringing together several international and Middle Eastern stars under one roof to celebrate and honour both known and unknown, as well as hard working and talented personalities.
