App to make shopping for vehicle parts hassle-free in Oman

Muscat: Are you grappling with problems like finding brake pads, fuses or a water pump for your beloved car?
A group of Omani students has developed an app to save car owners the hassle of searching for affordable car spare parts in Oman.
“Motorists in the Sultanate are short of options when it comes to finding spare parts for their vehicles. While official car dealers sell expensive parts, it takes lots of time to find the perfect parts in local workshops,” Mohammed Al Wahaibi, operation manager of Dahalaeez Oman, a student-run company, said.
“We introduced this application to save car owners time and money,” he explained.
From fancy Bentleys to the selling-like-hot-cakes Toyotas, motor heads will be able to select the best accessories for their cars with their fingertips.
Talking to the Times of Oman, Al Wahaibi said the app includes a list of all used car parts available in Muscat and Al Batinah.
The app displays locations, prices and availability of each part. It will become available to Omani consumers this week.
He also explained that the mobile app will provide phone numbers of all breakdown services so stranded motorists can find the closest service provider, at a discounted price.
The company is staffed by 13 Omanis from Rustaq College of Applied Sciences.
According to Mohammed, the app will also provide a platform for consumers who want to sell their car parts to area dealers.
