In a first, Royal Hospital performs three device implantations to treat arrhythmia

Muscat: For the first time, the Royal Hospital succeeded in performing three device implantations to treat cardiac arrhythmia at Nizwa Hospital, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

A specialised medical team at the National Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery at the Royal Hospital succeeded in performing three device implantations to treat heart arrhythmia for the first time at Nizwa Hospital.

The operations were performed by a medical team headed by Dr. Ismail bin Abdullah Al Abri, a cardiologist consultant at the National Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery, with the participation of Ahmed Al Kharusi, a cardiac catheterization technician, and Zakaria Al Maawali and Nizar Al Muharbi, a catheterization laboratory nurse.

These operations are an important achievement for Nizwa Hospital, as they contribute to improving the quality of health services provided to patients, and reduce the need to transfer them to other hospitals.

This step comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Health to expand the scope of its specialised medical services and provide them to patients in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

This new service offers hope to many heart patients in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, as it helps them overcome heart rhythm disturbances and improve their quality of life.

It is noteworthy that the catheterization laboratory at Nizwa Hospital was opened last September, and cardiac catheterisation operations are performed on a regular basis.
