Muscat: The Royal Hospital, represented by the Research Department pays great attention to the enhancement of research culture and quality is a cornerstone in development of the healthcare system in the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Haseena bint Ahmed Al Harthi, senior specialists and head of the studies and research department at the Royal Hospital, said that the hospital offers integrated and quality healthcare and plays a key role in the field of health research in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Royal Hospital has remarkable achievements where the number of its publications amounted to 150, an increase of 30 percent compared to the past five years, she added.
She said that the year 2023 saw diverse research in the specialisation of internal medicine, surgery and paediatrics and other fields, which reflects the commitment of the Royal Hospital to offering integrated and high-quality healthcare.
Building the capabilities and competency of the research personnel is a strategic priority to us, she said, adding that “we focus on practical implementation of knowledge and on enhancement of the culture of sharing knowledge”.
The fields of cooperation contribute to the research march of the hospital. The cooperation fields include enhancement of cooperation with the academic institutions and the number of publications associated with cooperation with the other academic institutions has recently increased from 3 percent to 7 percent, she said.
She reaffirmed that the Royal Hospital aspires to continue with innovation and dissemination of knowledge and efficient contribution to improvement of healthcare in the Sultanate of Oman and to start the year 2024 with ambitious plans for enhancement of research.-ONA
