MUSCAT: In line with its commitment to social responsibility and community service, Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate of Oman, signed a partnership agreement for planting 300 Olive trees in the village of Al Manakhir, Jabal Al Akhdhar. The plantation project will be implemented across different phases over a period of 8 months. The agreement was signed at the Bank’s Head Office by Talib bin Saif Al Makhmari, Head of Community & Media Relations, Bank Muscat, Mahmood bin Salim Al Tobi, the person responsible for endowments and mosques in Al Manakhir village, Jabal Al Akdhar, and Ishaq bin Nasser Al Nabhani, the CEO of the company responsible for implementing the project.
The plantation project falls under Bank Muscat’s CSR sustainable initiatives, set with the aim to support the community and nurture the Sultanate’s economic growth through the launch of projects that have sustainable impact from the ecological, social, and economic perspectives. Bank Muscat’s contribution to the project included providing financial support to foster a successful implementation process of planting the Olive trees. Furthermore, the project will contribute to the sustainable development of the ecological system by widening the plantation areas in the village. In fact, Olive trees are of economic value, since they can contribute to the realization of good returns. Additionally, the Olive can be cropped in large quantities due to the nurturing climate conditions in Jabal Al Akdhar. The Olive crops will be utilized for practicing various industries such as the crop pressing processes.

Bank Muscat, will uphold its pioneering role in supporting the society through the implementation of such strategic and sustainable plans to serve the needs of the local communities.”

From his side, Mahmood bin Salim Al Tobi, the person responsible for endowments and mosques, Al Manakhir village, expressed his appreciation of the partnership with Bank Muscat which showcases the Bank’s contribution to supporting the community and developing various areas through launching social initiatives aiming to serve the various needs of local people. Mahmood Al Tobi delivered his thanks and appreciation to the Bank for the constant support contributed to local projects.
