Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Dr. Kamel bin Fahad Al Said inaugurated the national platform “Dawam” to promote self-employment opportunities for Omani talent in the economic sectors.

Her Highness Mian bint Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dawam Platform, confirmed in her opening speech that the Sultanate of Oman has sought, since the beginning of its renewed renaissance, the features of which were drawn by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik , to ​​pay attention to the technology and employment sectors as essential sectors in the Oman Vision 2040. In its national priorities, the vision emphasised paying attention to the youth sector, working to qualify and train them, and create suitable job opportunities for them, based on His Majesty’s deep belief in the importance of Omani youth in building this dear nation, their effective contribution to the advancement of society in its various development fields, and the importance of keeping pace with refining the skills of national cadres in a way that is compatible with the local and global labor market, and consistent with global trends in the field of the digital revolution and future skills. Our ceremony here today comes to confirm to all of you our interest in the Omani youth as they are the basic pillar in building Oman’s future, and our deep belief in overcoming all the challenges facing the employment file in the Sultanate of Oman in cooperation and coordination with various governmental and private agencies and civil society institutions.

Her Highness indicated that the “Dawam” platform will be a vital and inspiring partner and an effective tool in enhancing the job profile and supporting the national economy by providing self-employment opportunities by taking advantage of professionals and experts, empowering small and medium-sized companies, and marketing Omani professionals and experts in global labor markets.

Her Highness explained that there are continuous and strenuous efforts made in preparing and preparing this platform well, and the importance of its positive role and effective partnership with various parties in overcoming the difficulties and challenges in the work file. She is completely certain and confident that this platform will be a milestone in the field of work and employment, and will contribute effectively to qualifying Omani national cadres in line with the directions of Oman Vision 2040.

Her Highness Mian bint Shihab bin Tarik Al Said stressed the importance of continuous and continued support from all parties to ensure the desired results in the long term. She thanked the platform's board of directors for all their efforts in supporting and developing the platform's strategies, and to the entities and companies supporting the platform, led by the Ministry of Labour, the Oman Technology Fund, and the Oman Energy Association "OPAL."

Laila Bint Saeed Al Harithi, co-founder and CEO of the Dawam platform, presented a visual presentation about the platform, its goals and contents, and how to benefit from the services provided by the platform.

Al Harithi pointed out in her presentation that the “Dawam” platform is a dynamic digital work platform that works to provide digital solutions to the labor sector, as it connects individuals with a range of opportunities, ranging from full-time job opportunities, self-employment, and various training programs such as on-the-job training, training coupled with employment and grants. It is also committed to reducing the gap between individuals, employers and projects, which contributes to creating an active and prosperous labor market and stimulates the Omani national economy.

Al Harithi explained that the “Dawam” platform will be a pioneer in directing skilled Omani cadres to the direct labor market, and contribute to the success of the various businesses of companies and entities by providing Omani cadres with distinguished experience and competence.It also has a distinct additional value in supporting the Omani economy by providing various job opportunities for job seekers and benefiting from the expertise of retirees, enabling small and medium-sized companies to find the appropriate staff, working to market Omani talents in global markets, and enhancing investment in human capital to add local value to society, keep pace with the five-year development plans in the technology sectors and the digital revolution, and work to provide national cadres with the opportunity to combine partial and freelance work, training and full employment.

Al Harithi indicated that the platform currently has a dynamic database of more than 150,000 users, and there are more than 3,000 companies registered on the platform, more than 10,500 registered on the self-employment portal, and more than 6,000 different success stories that benefited from the platform’s services, and entered into partnerships with more than 6 educational institutions. The platform received praise from Stanford Social Innovation Magazine as one of the 7 best Arab platforms in the work sector, and it also has a group of partnerships with a number of human resources companies.

The ceremony included the showing of a group of short documentary films about the “Dawam” platform and its extended journey over the past period in its technical and technological preparation and preparation, and a presentation of the successful Omani experiences that benefited from the platform in local and global marketing.

 The ceremony included the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the National Employment Program and the Principle of Change Company “Time Platform” to qualify and develop Omani national capabilities in the self-employment sector to raise the competencies of job seekers and provide them with job opportunities.

 The memorandum was signed by Omar bin Abdulaziz Al Maamari, director of the program’s self-employment initiative, and Laila bint Saeed Al Harithi, CEO of the company, on behalf of the company.

The memorandum aims for the platform to contribute to the development of the labor market by employing technology in managing and providing job opportunities, which contributes directly to enhancing self-employment opportunities for Omani youth in various economic sectors, and helping job seekers in finding appropriate job opportunities. It also helps employers find cadres that match the job requirements in their organizations. In addition to working to conduct the necessary studies in the self-employment and entrepreneurship sector that will contribute to enhancing opportunities for self-employment in the Sultanate of Oman.

A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Principle of Change Company, “Time Platform”, with the aim of building bridges of cooperation and communication between the public and private sectors, in a way that ensures the achievement of national goals in the areas of employment and employment. This memorandum comes in light of the many challenges that job seekers face, including challenges related to keeping pace with the changing requirements of the labor market, and the importance of achieving independence and self-sufficiency through self-employment.

 A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the Oman Oil Marketing Company (Oman Oil) and the Principle of Change Company “Dawam Platform”. The memorandum aimed to highlight the importance of finding sustainable solutions to the employment file, the importance of using modern technology in this field, and the emphasis on qualifying and training Omani national cadres to enter the labor market in a way that is compatible with modern technological developments and supports the Omani national economy.
