Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth has urged the players of our first national football team to make an honourable appearance for Omani football in the AFC Asian Cup 2023.
His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, expresses his confidence in the ability of our first national football team to provide an outstanding performance and achieve the desired positive results from its anticipated participation in the Asian Nations Cup, whose competitions will be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, during the period from January 12 until February 10, 2024.
Regarding this participation, His Highness said: “We are aware of the intensity of the competition in this continental championship. However, hopes are pinned on the potential and capabilities of our team players, and we see the extent of their sincere desire to reach the podium, and their dedication to raising the name of their country, which is proud of them as honorable heroes.”
His Highness urged the national team’s players and members of its technical and administrative staff to display high sportsmanship, advising them to sharpen their resolve and stimulate the sense of fair competition to show their talents and abilities in a way that meets the passion of its broad fans, satisfies its ambitious aspirations.
