Over 25 expats arrested in Oman

Muscat: More than 25 expatriates have been arrested from private homes for engaging in illegal activities after the Ministry of Labour (Mol), carried out an inspection campaign at homes in Muscat Governorate.

A statement issued online said: "The Ministry of Labour, represented by the General Directorate of Labour Welfare (Joint Inspection Team), in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, carried out an inspection campaign at private homes in Muscat Governorate where unlicensed businesses we're operating. 30 workers were arrested for violation of the provisions of the Labour Law."

"The Legal measures are being taken against them," the Ministry added.
