Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman chaired a coordination meeting of Their Excellencies the Permanent Representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries accredited to the United Nations(UN).
This came as part of the ongoing preparations for the 78th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled to be held in New York City. His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations, Chairman of the meeting, expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s welcome to the participating Gulf delegations, pointing to the positive and interactive role played by the GCC countries at the international level, and the keenness of many groups and countries to consult Council countries and learn about their vision on many regional and international issues.
Their Excellencies, the Permanent Representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to the United Nations, expressed their praise for the Omani presidency and the ongoing preparations for the joint Gulf meetings with many international groups and brotherly and friendly countries, scheduled to be held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The Gulf delegations praised the vital and pivotal role played by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council to ensure continuous communication with groups and countries and its keenness to care for Gulf interests before international forums.
