NEW DELHI, India: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said it is set to launch its first solar orbiter mission Aditya L1 satellite most likely on Sept. 2, 2023.

According to Nilesh M Desai, director of the Space Applications Center (SAC), Ahmedabad, the Aditya L1 satellite is ready on the launchpad.

Aditya L1 satellite will carry seven instruments to study the solar atmosphere, solar magnetic storms and its impact on the environment around Earth.

The satellite will be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system, which is about 1.5 million km from the Earth.

On Wednesday, the ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft landed on the moon's surface.
