Meteorology predicts heavy rainfall in several parts of Oman

Muscat: Most governorates of the Sultanate of Oman may witness heavy rainfall ranging between 20-50 mm on Thursday, August 10, 2023, said  Oman Meteorology .

Oman Meteorology said that the mountainous areas of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah and Dhofar Governorates may be affected by heavy rains.

 "Heavy rain ranging between 20-50 mm, may cause downdraft winds of 20-45 knots along with poor horizontal visibility due to rising dust during thunderstorms, and chances of overflowing valleys," Oman Meteorology added.
