Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the investment project "Day Care Center for the Elderly" in the governorate of Muscat , with the "Trip to Doc" company, with an investment value of OMR 1.2 million.
The project provides services for the elderly, with the aim of guaranteeing their rights represented in providing a safe environment that includes social, health, recreational and psychological services of high quality, and providing them with appropriate services to reduce the psychological, health and mental repercussions for them, in addition to enabling them to participate in public life.
The memorandum was signed by Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al-Najjar, Minister of Social Development on the Ministry's side, and on the company's side, Grzygos Tylos, CEO of the company.
Safia bint Muhammad Al-Amiri, Director of the Elderly Affairs Department at the Ministry of Social Development, stated that this project is one of the strategic investment projects in the social development sector in the Governorate of Muscat, through which it is hoped that the rights of the elderly will be guaranteed by providing a safe environment commensurate with their conditions, and enabling them to spend leisure time to reduce psychology effects associated with aging.
Khalsa bint Hammoud Al-Batashi, supervisor of the health sector at the National Programme for Investment and Export Development "Nzdhir", said that the signing of this memorandum came within the framework of the facilities and support provided by the "Health Sector Investment Laboratory", which was held by the Ministry of Health in December of last year with the cooperation of the unit for following up the implementation of “Oman Vision 2040” and the national programme “We thrive”, adding that one of the most important objectives of this laboratory is to attract internal and external private investments in the field of health promotion by exploring investment opportunities that contribute to enabling individuals to obtain products and services to practice healthy lifestyles as well as contribute to economic development.
